Before, During and After the Procedure

During

The procedure typically begins by applying a topical numbing cream to the targeted area. This ensures that the fillers can be injected with minimal discomfort.

After about 15-20 minutes, when the numbing effect takes hold, we cleanse the area and then inject the chosen filler into the appropriate site. We might massage the area for a few seconds to distribute the filler evenly and avoid unsatisfactory results.

After

Following the treatment, it’s normal to experience some swelling and redness, which usually subsides within 24 to 48 hours. In rare cases, there’s a chance of bruising but will resolve within a few days.

Before

You’ll be given specific precautions to follow and advice on necessary preparations.

For optimal results and a smooth procedure, we highly recommend:

  • Refrain from using creams containing retinol or glycolic acid, vitamin E, or other supplements for at least two days prior to the procedure.
  • Avoid consuming alcohol for 24 hours before the procedure.
  • Avoid waxing, threading, or other hair removal methods at the site you’ve chosen for dermal fillers two days prior to the treatment.

Aftercare Tips

  • Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for at least six hours after the procedure. This will help prevent any potential infection or displacement of the filler.
  • Apply ice packs or cold compresses. Use a clean cloth or towel to wrap the ice pack and apply it gently for 10-15 minutes at a time. This can help reduce swelling and bruising. Don’t apply ice directly to the skin.
  • Wash gently, if needed, with soap and water only.
  • Avoid makeup for at least 24 hours. This allows the filler to settle and reduces the risk of infection.
  • Avoid getting any waxing, facial treatments, or therapy for at least two weeks
  • Avoid excessive heat and sun exposure for at least two weeks as this can increase swelling and potentially affect the longevity of the filler.
  • Avoid strenuous activities for the first 24-48 hours after the treatment. This will help minimise swelling and allow the filler to settle properly.
  • Avoid consuming alcohol for at least 24 hours.
  • Stay hydrated to help the filler integrate well with the surrounding tissues.
